Injured federal employees

You choose your doctor, not your agency

If you were hurt working for the Postal Service, the VA, TSA, CBP or any other federal agency, the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act lets you choose your own treating physician. Our federal workers’ compensation doctors treat the injury, write the medical reports OWCP asks for, and walk you through each form.

New to the process? Start with our guide to OWCP forms such as the CA-1 and CA-2, or read how our DOL doctors handle a claim from the first visit.

Hurt on the job in Texas, or in a car accident?

We also treat private-sector workers under Texas workers’ compensation and people injured in crashes through our personal injury doctors, with physical therapy and rehab in the same clinic.

Two Rio Grande Valley clinics

Questions we hear every day

Can I choose Alivio as my doctor for a federal work injury?

Yes. Under the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act you have the right to choose your own treating physician for an accepted work injury, as long as the provider is enrolled with OWCP. Call us before you see anyone else and we will help you start your claim the right way.

Do you help with OWCP forms like the CA-1 and CA-2?

Yes, at no cost to you. Our team helps injured federal workers understand and complete OWCP forms, including the CA-1, CA-2, CA-7, CA-16 and CA-17, and we file the medical reports OWCP needs from your treating provider.

Do you treat Texas workers’ comp and car accident injuries too?

Yes. We treat Texans injured on the job under Texas workers’ compensation, and people hurt in car accidents. For auto injuries we can treat under your attorney’s letter of protection, so care can begin before your case settles.

Where are your clinics?

We have two Rio Grande Valley clinics: 1913 S 1st St, Ste 200, McAllen, and 1709 S 77 Sunshine Strip, Ste C, Harlingen. Both can be reached at (956) 679-3451.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. Your first consultation is free, and so is our help with OWCP forms. Call or use the form at the bottom of any page and our team will call you back in English or Spanish.
